Our aim is to raise enough money to allow us to replace our aging Fire Escape thus allowing us to continue to offer first class theatre....
In case you are not aware, Teignmouth Players is an amateur theatre company based at the Ice Factory, in Somerset Place, Teignmouth, in Devon. It consists of a lovely studio theatre, seating 50 comfortably with modern lighting and sound as well as AV facilities. It also boasts a specious rehearsal room suitable for meetings and classes as well as a well equipped bar.
The building itself dates from approximately 1880 and was, as the name indicates, an ice factory supplying the fishing boats which frequented Teignmouth Docks in days gone by.
Teignmouth Players Amateur Theatre Company rent the building from Teignbridge Council and whereas this is not normally a problem, if any works need doing it falls upon Teignmouth Players themselves to pay for the work. Unfortunately, our fire escape is now in need of some TLC and it won’t be cheap. Hence this Crowdfunder appeal. With VAT the cost of a new fire escape is £15,600.
We know that the ice Factory has a wonderful reputation for producing excellent work and indeed, sells out many of its shows. We know it has a big following within the community. Which is why we are asking for your help. Can you help to raise the £15,600 necessary to keep our wonderful Ice Factory Theatre alive and allow Teignmouth Players to keep their home for the foreseeable future......
