One Act Plays

“Nuts” and “Allergic Audience”

At the Ice Factory Studio Theatre. Fri- day 8th and Saturday 9th March, tickets available from the Box Office.

Tickets £10

The next production by Teignmouth Players at the Ice Factory Studio Theatre  will be two one act comedies - ‘NUTS ‘ written and directed by Jef Pirie and  ‘The Allergic Audience, written by Joan Greening and directed by Dave Davies. The dates are Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March, and both plays are also entered into the Teignmouth & Dawlish Drama Festival (TADDFest) taking place at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Dawlish on 16th March.

‘NUTS’  -  is a  brand new one-act play and Jef Pirie is encouraging his  experienced cast – Amy Burton-Smith, Lisa Fletcher and David Warren – to view the piece as a ‘work in progress’ during rehearsals, giving them a unique opportunity to shape the play without the constraints of the usual licence restrictions.

Two women meet on a Hen Night, and on the way home a chance encounter with an ex employer in an up-market Hotel leads to some unexpected consequences for all three of them. As the title suggests the play ‘may contain nuts’.

‘The Allergic Audience’ also covers the theme of allergies – in this case hessian.  Two women (played by Pauline Dean and Tricia Sandford) meet on stage and have very different ideas about the performance that is about to begin.

First performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2016, ‘The Allergic Audience’ is the first play to be directed by Dave Davies for Teignmouth Players.
